General Safety Rules

People are the number 1 asset in any successful business and protecting that asset should be the cornerstone activity.  There are 621,000 workers who had a non-fatal injury at work in 2015/16.  The following rules are General Safety Rules that apply to all personnel at all times. In addition to these Rules, other rules and exposure specific training will be provided to protect the health and well-being of our workforce.  You have a duty and responsibility to obey all rules and failure to do so will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.

  • No Horseplay or fighting allowed.
  • No firearms or weapons of any kind allowed on Company property
  • Report all unsafe conditions to your supervisor immediately.
  • Wear seatbelts at all times.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of debris.
  • No alcohol or drugs will be used or allowed on Company property.
  • Report all injuries Immediately to your Supervisor.
  • Ask for training if unfamiliar with any task.
  • Use lifting equipment or get help for heavy or awkward loads
  • Do not remove or bypass any guard on any piece of machinery or tool
  • Use appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Keep care of all PPE and replace them as needed or when they expire.
  • Any spill of food or liquid must be cleaned up immediately.
  • Know who to contact or who to call in the case of emergency
  • Know who in the location you work in is a first responder or has had first aid/cpr training
  • Become familiar with all Emergency Action Plans and Evacuation Plans for your location
  • Take part in the Company’s Safety Program if you can
  • Make sure that you have all certifications and are authorized to operate any machinery that you may be asked to operate
  • Know where the Safety Data Sheets book is kept and become familiar with the hazardous chemicals that you may be exposed to and how they can affect you
